Tanzania: Extend Govt Audits to Tax-Exempt Bodies

Nairobi — The leading story in the June 22 issue of The EastAfrican was on political party finances in Tanzania, specifically the need for an independent auditor of the books of accounts of government registered political parties beginning July 1.

Currently, there are 17 political parties in the country, less than a handful of which are relatively active.
