Cameroon: NW CPDM Committed To Plebiscite President Biya

Section presidents request the Prime Minister to tell President Paul Biya that he is their natural candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.

All sections of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) from the North West Region through their presidents thank President Paul Biya for appointing Philemon Yang to the post of Prime Minister and want Mr Biya to stand as their natural candidate in the 2011 presidential election promising him a hundred percent vote. The CPDM, WCPDM and YCPDM presidents under the Coordination Unit of the North West CPDM Section Presidents, yesterday July 19 congratulated Philemon Yang on his appointment and expressed their commitment to support him help the Head of State achieve his development programme for Camroon.

"We are here today just to thank and congratulate you and pray that God should give you more wisdom", the spokesperson of the CPDM section presidents, Paul Atanga Nji, Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency and section President Mezam I (Bamenda), told the Prime Minister. While thanking the Head of State for the appointment, Mr Atanga Nji said it was a big challenge and expressed the commitment of the North West CPDM to support Yang and work together with him. " We are proud because the Head of State's choice was a good one. It is important to show commitment by voting 100 percent for President Paul Biya in 2011 presidential election", he said. In stating that the North West CPDM will never allow Cameroon be destabilised, their spokesperson condemned the Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) that came up with intoxicating report about the illicit wealth of the Head of State. He described the report as a way of diverting the Head of State from his objective of piloting the ship of State to prosperity.

The Prime Minister in response, congratulated the CPDM militants from the North West Region saying, "You are special because you have always projected your militancy even when it was difficult. You have been a powerful party even when you went from disappointment to disappointment in the Region". He thanked the Head of State for giving him confidence, stating that the confidence was also to all of the North West CPDM. Mr Yang urged the party militants to be humble and remain in dignity as this will pave the way for a great future. "Your devotion to the President of the Republic should never be shakeable", he told them and added that the North West CPDM militants should stand for the one Cameroon, one President and should never join groups with tendencies to divide Cameroon.

The President of the Coordination Unit of the North West CPDM Section President, John Begheni Ndeh, who is president of the Mezam II Section (Santa) on behalf of the unit handed a gift of a seat to the Prime Minister.
