Asaba — World Bank Managing Director, Professor Ngozi Okonjo-lweala, has lauded efforts and strides of Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan, at ensuring even development that will usher in economic and political prosperity in the state.

Okonjo-Iweala, who was on tour of ongoing projects with Uduaghan, weekend, in Asaba, said the Asaba International Airport would be an excellent business gateway to the eastern part of the country when completed.

She expressed her delight that Uduaghan not only had the will to commence the projects, but was determined to complete them as quick as possible.

She said, "l am very happy with the state government's initiative to construct this kind of airport, this is an excellent business way to the eastern part of the country.

It will help improve on the economy of the state and attract massive development,' adding that the airport would render unparallel services in the aviation industry.

On the new government house project, she advised the governor to decorate it with African works of arts and allow the public to tour the complex.

She said it was the practice in civilised nations where tourism is a major revenue for government.

Managing Director of the construction company handling the projects, said the airport is equipped with modern facilities which are not available in many of the airports in the country.
