Abuja — Lagos State Government said on Tuesday that its decision to challenge the results of the 2006 National Population and Housing Census was to ensure that its developmental programmes were based on accurate and reliable data.

Addressing Census Tribunal 'C' in Abuja during its inaugural sitting, Lagos State Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary, Lawal Pedro, said the petition filed by the state was not an ego trip but one to make sure that the state knows the number of people it had to cater for.
