South Africa: Motaung Junior Will Rise Above Jeers, Says Brother

Port Elizabeth — Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung maintained yesterday that his much vilified brother, Kaizer Motaung Junior, would rise above the abuse and hostility he received from his side's own supporters during the club's encounter with Manchester City in Durban on Tuesday night.

Motaung Junior was mercilessly booed by the Chiefs supporters whenever he touched the ball after a litany of missed opportunities. Many of the hapless player's persecutors demanded his substitution, but to his credit, new Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic refused to budge and Motaung was allowed to complete the match with his dignity intact.
