Nigeria: 'Call for Dissolution of PDP Exco Baseless'

Awka — Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed recent call by some members of national and state assemblies from the state for dissolution of the state executive committee of PDP, saying the call is unconstitutional, undemocratic, baseless and smacks of self-interest.

Addressing newsmen yesterday, after a special meeting of the enlarged state exco of PDP, including chairmen of the 21 local government chapters of the party, state Chairman, Mr Uchenna Emodi, said the call was a spill-over from their failed agitation to secure "automatic ticket" for re-election.
