Uganda: Tebazalwa Beaten in Ireland

Kampala — Boxer Abdul 'Cobra' Tebazalwa put up a spirited fight throughout the scheduled 12 rounds of the IBF International featherweight title contest against Patrick Hyland but failed to register enough points for him to be crowned champion.

It was Tebazalwa's third consecutive defeat and his sixth on the record of 13 (10)-6. Hyland dominated most of the rounds against the Ugandan opponent, boxing effectively behind his jab on his way to a unanimous points win (119-109, 118-110, 118-110).

According to the irish-boxing.com, Tebazalwa proved an extremely worthy foe and one could have also easily argued that he was somewhat harshly treated by the judges.

The website also described Tebazalwa as a brave fighter who certainly went to fight and did not seem daunted by the prospect of fighting in enemy territory. Hyland controlled proceedings throughout and landed a number of massive blows. Despite lasting the distance, Tebazalwa couldn't pull off a win.
