Nigeria: Nasfat to Raise N5 Billion For National Mosque

Lagos — President of NASRUL-LAHI-L-FATIH(NASFAT), Mr. Abu Salami, yesterday in Lagos said the organisation will raise the sum of N5 billion for the construction of NASFAT national mosque in Mowe,Ogun State.

Salami said as part of the organisation's commitment in pursuit of islamic excellence, the mosque will serve as a catalyst to further encourage and propel the growth and practice of Islam in Nigeria

He said the organisation has considered a lot of options and modalities for this fund raising, adding that the organisation was going to take full advantage of the numerical strength of NASFAT to mobilise funds internally.

"We are making use of flag bearers to raise funds, and these flag bearers are highly committed and accomplished service minded Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their professions, occupations, business, government and other spheres of the society," he said.

He added that the fund raising committee had been saddled with the responsibility of packaging an Islamic Marshall plan to develop the Mowe land into a befitting functional and state- of- the-art islamic centre of international standard within a targeted time frame.

"The centre shall be an integrated complex, a Mecca in Nigeria and in fact an architectural master piece with aesthetics as being conceived by the national executive committee in order to promote universal brotherhood of peace, " he said .
