Botswana: Dream End to a Troubled Season

From uncertainty to a promise of millions and to uncertainty again and finally back to a mouth- watering P5 million league. This has been the story of the 2008-2009 Premier League season.

It started with the departure of the then Premier League Committee (PLC) led by Booker Bannister to the current one led by Mokganedi 'Mike' Molefe courtesy of the Bosele Declaration. The declaration ushered in the Chairpersons' Forum from which the PLC members are selected. The roping in of Pula Sports Marketing to help with the commercialisation of the league brought with it a lot of positive change. And, as the curtain finally comes to a close this weekend with a potentially explosive title decider between current log leaders Gaborone United and defending champions, Mochudi Centre Chiefs, the PLC can look back with a great sense of satisfaction.
