Cameroon: Entrepreneurs Brood Over Calabar Trade Fair

Entrepreneurs Brood Over Calabar Trade Fair The international business jamboree is slated for October 22 to 28, 2009.

Local businessmen and representatives of the Ministry of Trade last week convened at the Douala Chamber of Commerce to drum up stratagems to ensure the success of a forthcoming trade fair billed for Calabar, Nigeria from October 22 to 28th. According to the service head of foreign trade in the Ministry of Trade, Emmanuel Mbarga, the focus of the Calabar business jamboree is to create more opportunities for Cameroonians to export home-made goods to Nigeria, as well as strengthen existing business ties between the two nations. Potential participants were urged to obtain a special identification number with which they would officially transport their goods, secure stands and effectively participate at the Calabar fair. Would-be partakers were also told to transfer their merchandise from their warehouses to the Littoral delegation of commerce, two days before departure.
