Nigeria: O'jez Celebrates Fatai Rolling Dollar

Lagos — O'jez celebrates Fatai Rolling Dollar at 83 foremost entertainment centre and celebrity hangout, O'jez is celebrating veteran octogenarian highlife musician, Fatai Rolling Dollar who will be 83 years old next week, at its last Sunday of the month O'jez Entertainment Forum.

Scheduled to hold this Sunday, July 26 at O'jez, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos beginning from 5pm, the highlife party will feature the O'jez Band and Evergreen Band that will be dishing out evergreen tunes of highlife greats such as A. C. Arinze, Victor Olaiya, and Bobby Benson among others. Rolling Dollar will also take turn on the stage to show the stuff he is made off. One of the oldest performing artistes in the globe today, the veteran highlife musician has been consistent in his act for over five decades.

Chief Executive Officer of the home of Nigeria's celebrities, Chief Joseph Odobeatu said in a statement that O'jez was celebrating Fatai Rolling Dollar "as a living legend. We not only celebrate our late music heroes, we also ensure that we pay honour to them while they are still alive, to encourage them."

Odobeatu described Rolling Dollar as "a source of inspiration to younger artistes in Nigeria and the African continent. Pa Fatai Rolling Dollar is who younger artistes should look up to and have encouragement because he has proven that at the ripe age of 83, he can still perform live on stage and make money for himself instead of just been content with being a veteran and living off his past glory."

This weekend promises to be explosive according to Odobeatu who is popularly called O'jez. "Just when people would be recovering from the effect of the Friday Nite Jamz at O'jez, we will hit them with our usual Saturday Fever Nite and then on Sunday, it is highlife menu served hot with the hosting of Fatai Rolling Dollar. It is a loaded weekend at O'jez, I must confess," he submitted.

O'jez Entertainment Forum had played host to notable personalities since its inception about nine years ago. The likes of Prof. Wole Soyinka, Prof.. Femi Osofisan, late Steve Rhodes, Femi Asekun, Ambassador Segun Olusola, Nollywood stars Nkem Owoh, Zach Orji and just recently, founder of wholly Nigerian Pay TV Company, Toyin Subair, had all danced on O'jez stage..

Comedian Mr. Patrick and prominent Nollywood comedy actor Victor Osuagwu are billed to anchor the show, while top celebrities such as Zack Orji, Ejike Asiegbu, Mamuzee Twins, and Emeka Enyiocha among others are expected guests at the event.
