Nigeria: North Lags Behind in CBN, FG Agencies

Contrary to allegations of wrongful application of the Federal Character principle especially prior to the appointment of the Governor of Central Bank (CBN) Sanusi Lamido, the 19 northern states and the FCT have been found to fall far short of equity in the employ of the CBN and many other federal agencies, Daily Trust investigation has revealed.

A credible data obtained from the apex bank yesterday reveals that out of 5005 staff in the employ of the CBN, 3000 come from the 17 states of the south while the remaining 2005 is shared among the 19 states in the north and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
