Uganda: Bitamazire Grilled Over Patriotism Funds

Kampala — MPS on the social affairs committee yesterday asked education minister Namirembe Bitamazire to explain why she left the President's Office to carry out the patriotism programme instead of her ministry which supervises education issues.

The ministry of finance has earmarked sh3.5b for the patriotism clubs in 5,000 secondary schools. The deputy chairman, Chris Baryomunsi, said the committee had resolved that the patriotism funds be shifted from the President's Office to the education ministry.
