Uganda: Museveni to Unveil Nakumatt

Kampala — PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni is slated to officially open the multibillion Oasis Shopping Mall on August 6.

Located on Yusuf Lule Road in Kampala, the mall is owned by Hajati Amina Hersi under Oasis Hotels Ltd investment vehicle.

"This one-stop shopping mall, the biggest in Uganda, has been provisionally working, but now President Museveni will launch it officially. Almost all businesses are working whereas others are doing final touches on their spaces. According the mall's plan, we wanted to create a shopping environment that gives value for money to consumers of goods and services," Hersi said.

With Nakumatt, occupying 60% of the complex space, Oasis Shopping Mall is a place for comprehensive and secure shopping as it has a two-floor parking lot for about 450 vehicles.

The mall, whose construction started in 2007, stands on a four-acre piece of land.

It will operate 24-hours, becoming the first chain to do so in the history of supermarkets in the country.

Nakumatt will cover three floors of the complex. It will sell all kinds of products ranging from household to motoring.
