Somalia: Government Soldiers Conduct Operations, Detain Five People in Beledweyn Town

Somalia — The transitional government soldiers have conducted operations in Beledweyn town overnight and detained 5 people there in central Somalia, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Monday.

Reports say that the soldiers started to patrol through the town at the night time since they took over the control of the town recently.

Residents said that the government soldiers captures at least 5 people, most of them teenagers and sent to the jail as the soldiers were patrolling in the town saying that the troops' said reason was to assure the security of the town.

Government officials in Beledweyn town told reporters that their aim is to keep the security situation of the town and the step comes as there had been insecurity situations in the town over the past few days.
