Eritrea: Northern Red Sea Region and Sudanese Red Sea Zone Concludes Cooperation Agreement

Asmara — The Eritrean Northern Red Sea region and the Sudanese Red Sea zone today concluded a cooperation agreement.

The agreement was signed at Hotel Asmara Palace by Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergish, Administrator of the Eritrean Northern Red Sea region, and Mr. Mohammed Tahir Ela, Administrator of the Sudanese Red Sea zone. It is focused on fostering cooperation in economic and trade investment, cultural domains, promoting peace and security, as well as ports activities and the like, besides conducting mutual visits on the part of heads and experts of both sides.

In a speech he delivered following the signing ceremony, Mr. Mohammed Tahir said that efforts would be exerted to foster cooperation in various domains for the benefit of the two people. In this respect, he pointed out that due attention would be given to the task of strengthening relations among the unions of workers, youths and women, in addition to undertaking encouraging tasks in the tourism and transportation sectors. He further expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality accorded him here in Eritrea.

Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergish on her part stressed the vital significance of the agreement signed between the two sides and underlined that the joint investment and cooperation programs would make due contribution in improving the living standard of the two peoples, besides promoting economic development and mutual relations.
