Uganda: Double Silver for Namusoke

Kampala — BECKY Namusoke won double silver in both the Africa junior and senior women weightlifting championships yesterday.

The four-day event, that attracted 15 countries, concludes today at Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala. It is running concurrently with the Africa Youth championships.

Namusoke, lifting in the over 75kg category snatched 72kg and then cleared 90kg, in the clean and jerk for a total of 162kg. She finished second behind Tunisia's Maroua Jlassi. Jlassi had a total of 194, while Uganda's Betty Namugalu finished third in both categories with a total of 120kg.
