Somalia: Government Soldiers Injure Two People in Beledweyn Town

Somalia — At least two people have been injured in Beledweyn town after government soldiers opened fire to a vehicle traveling through the town at overnight, witnesses told Shabelle radio on Sunday.

Residents in the town said that one of the wounded people was a driver of the truck and a passenger woman who were traveling near government centre in the town in central Somalia adding that one of them is in a very critical condition.

Both the wounded civilians were rushed to a hospital Beledweyn town.

The government officials in Beledweyn town had banned from the traffic to travel through the town specially the government centers as the police station, the centre of the region and all the government positions in the town at the night time.

More government troops are seen in the streets of the town as people in the town hear the sound of sporadic bullets which the soldiers said earlier their aim was to assure the security of town.

One resident said that the people are search at the night time as the troops patrol in the town at whole night.
