Kampala — RUMOURS wafting from the National Resistance Movement (NRM) headquarters has it that the party will soon launch a modern information and communication centre, the first of its kind in Uganda.
This according to sources will be the first fully fledged political party publicity office in the country. It will be the nerve centre from where the party will know what the supporters want by regularly talking to every one of them via radio, TV, newspapers, phone, Internet and email.
The ambitious project that is drawn on US President Barack Obama's campaign office, Israeli information gathering and dissemination, and China's Communist Party information dissemination strategies will be housed in an ultra-modern building in Kampala.
Rumours have it that top international communication strategists from the US, Europe, India and South Africa are on the centre's advisory board. The name of the centre is being kept under wraps.
But whispers in the corridors have it that it will either be known as NRM Information Bureau or NRM Communication Centre.
