Despite public curiosity about his health, President Mills is looking ever stronger and healthier.

There is a vast difference between when he was Candidate Mills and now President Mills in terms of strength.

Could this be attributed to the immense power of state and privilege now available to him or simply because he now has better health care?

The president is not a student of fashion but he is said to have been seen occasionally sporting what seems like a fashionable neck chain.

Servants claim that the chain may be what is known as the "Amezcua Chi Pendent".

The pendent is said to help combat depleted energy levels and according to the grapevine is usually worn by T.B Joshua, a Nigerian evangelist and spiritual healer who is also reputed to be fairly close to the Ghanaian president. Until last week, the chain was sold only in Nigeria at around GH¢1000.

Advertisers of the chain say it "is a way to provide continuous protection from the effects of a busy and stressful world, a way to recharge your batteries, and importantly, a way to allow you to get on with life with a bounce in your step."

The Amezcua Chi Pendant is described as "an advanced, mineral-based disc made from high-temperature nano-engineered glass that has a positive energy field. Wearing the Amezcua Chi Pendant makes the wearer feel balanced and harmonised."

As well as improving harmony and energy levels, the Amezcua Chi Pendant, the advertiser's website says, also protects the wearer from the electromagnetic fields in the environment.

Tests, say the promoters, have shown that the Amezcua Chi Pendant is able to neutralise the negative effects of electro-smog (e-smog) which is the result of electromagnetic fields created by electronic equipment such as mobile phones, computers, microwave ovens, lighting, air-conditioners, etc.
