Nigeria: Rivers - Broadening the Spectrum of Governance

Lagos — The Rivers State Government in its efforts to ensure popular participation in governance recently introduced regular fora through which the people, organisations and other stakeholders in the state interface with the government and pose questions as well as make suggestions on the way forward.

Last week, another forum was held. Ahamefula Ogbu who covered the forum reports that Governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi used it to render account to the people on some of his programmes and was given candid advice on how to serve the people better.
