Uganda: Ethanol Production Will Reduce Transport Costs

A review of the major economic developments for the second quarter of 2009 reveals that the cost of doing business in Uganda is rising steadily.

This is on account of the soaring transport costs among others, and in spite of the substantial decline in global oil prices in 2008, the cost of fuel in Uganda has persistently remained high. One way of mitigating this problem would be the local production of ethanol to complement fossil fuels in the transport sector.
