East Africa: EALA Endorses Two New EAC Members

The East Africa Legislative Assembly (Eala) yesterday passed amendments to the East African Community Customs Management Bill 2009 which recognises Rwanda and Burundi as new entrants to the EAC.

The bill would also impose different penalties and endorse computerization of all the East African ports as a means of solving congestion problems which they face, targeting Dar es Salaam and Mombasa.
