Nigeria: 550 Hectares of Land - UI Asks Residents to Quit

After the acquisition of about 550 hectares of land in Ajibode Village , residents of the area have been advised by the authorities of the University of Ibadan to vacate the land.

This warning was given by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olufemi Bamiro while speaking with newsmen yesterday.

According to the VC, all the land owners had long been compensated when Professor Olajuwon Olaide was the vice chancellor.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the residents of the acquired land had been given another 100 hectares of land where they would relocate to.

Already, the Federal Government had disbursed a grant of N1.3bn for the construction of road network covering about 2.7 kilometres.
