Gambia: St. Georges Guilds in Denmark Again Donated Items

The St. Georges Guilds in Denmark The Gambia Project in collaboration with the Gambia Baden Powell International Fellowship of Scout/Guilds and the Gambia Scout Association has once again presented one 40ft container as state on the parking list attached.

The presentation was held at the New Town Lower Basic School in Bakau on Saturday 18th July.

The beneficiaries include RVTH, Bakau Newtown LB School, Sanyang Police Station, Little Tree Skills Centre, Soma Scout Centre, Gambia Scout Association, Gola Fortunate School, Sanyang Health Centre and Hanne Vibe Nursery School.

In a brief statement made by the project coordinator Mr. Pa Omar Bojang, said the collection and gathering of the items by some retired scouts in Denmark shows the interest these people have in developing scout and other areas of importance. He therefore called on the collective responsibility to keep life time of the items and making the best use for their purpose. He however thanked all those who make it possible for them to receive and distribute the items to different beneficiaries.

Speaking on behalf of the RVTH, Alh. Dr. Babucarr Ngum, the PRO of the hospital also thanked the donors saying this is not the first of its kind the main hospital have been benefiting from the donors. He therefore expresses the hospital's appreciation on their effort to develop the health section.

Other speakers include the station officer at Sanyang Police Station Inspector Sherifo Manneh while the vote of thanks was delivered by Abubacarr Krubally, Field Scouts Commissioner. Among the items donated includes, Hospital beds, hospital mattresses, computers, scanner, printer, deck chair, cupboard, school uniforms (model) school tables, sewing machines, tents, school chairs among others.
