Uganda: Donors Still Prefer to Channel Funds to Civil Society

Nairobi — The 94-page study, "Development Co-operation Report 2007-2008," published by the government with the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme shows that most donors in Uganda provide support through civil society despite the government's efforts to persuade them to do so through the budget.

"The proportion of support to Uganda administered outside the government is significant. In some sectors, it exceeds 90 per cent of the total funding from development partners," the study says.
