Nigeria: My Kidnappers Demanded No Ransom - Edochie

Kidnapped Nollywood star, Pete Edochie, who was released by his captors on Monday night, returned to his private residence in Enugu around midday on Tuesday into the waiting hands of his wife, anxious relatives, friends and well wishers.

Edochie, who looked unperturbed, told journalists that the kidnappers treated him like a "father," offered him alcohol and allowed him access to pray with his chaplets during the 24 hours he stayed in their custody.

Contrary to media reports that the kidnappers demanded N10 million ransom for his release, Edochie said the boys who took him did not ask for money, stressing that nothing was paid to the kidnappers for his release.

He said the kidnappers dropped him off somewhere he could not really identify on Monday night and he was lucky to find a taxi that took him to Tourist Garden in Awka where he spent the night until morning on Tuesday when he embarked on the journey to Enugu.
