Nigeria: Lawal to Join Lobi as Player and Coach

Former Nigeria World Cup star, Garba Lawal, is believed to be tempted to lace his boots as a player-coach for premier league Lobi Stars of Makurdi."Discussions have been ongoing but I'm yet to decide," the 35-year-old Lawal informed Goal.com Lawal has already been introduced to the squad as a player-coach.

The hard working midfielder, first capped by Nigeria against Kenya in 1997, last featured in a competitive league two years ago with Chinese club Changsha Ginde.

He has starred for several European clubs including Roda JC in the Netherlands and CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria.

He played at the 1998 and 2002 World Cups and won Olympic gold in 1996.

In recent months, he has been involved with the technical committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
