Gambia: Gamcel FC Prevails Over Nyofelleh

The 2008/09 double cup winners in Gunjur, Gamcel F.C have stunned Nyofelleh Village 1-0 on Sunday, 16 August, at Gunjur.

Nyofelleh having known the might and the composition of the Gamcel team, have prepared well to avoid been defeated, but their efforts and cautiousness towards the Sunday game had obviously stretched the defending champions to the brink and almost sent them in to desperation.

However, Gamcel finally had the first fresh breath of air when Saikou Njie got them a brace as he beautifully fired in the first goal for home side, thus giving all the three points of the match.

On Tuesday 11 August, Nyokoyor F.C triumphed 2-0 over Happy Gunjur F.C

whilst on Thursday August 13, Oxford F.C thrashed New Town 2-1 and on Friday 14, Comium F.C humiliated Arsenal 3-0.

The Saturday match between NAS F.C and Commit F.C was called off following a heavy down pour of rain.
