Nigeria: The Country's Oil Production Rises to 1.7 MBD

Abuja — Nigeria's crude oil production has increased from 1.2 million barrels to more than 1.7 million barrels per day due to the successful implementation of the amnesty programme for Niger Delta militants, Petroleum Minister Rilwanu Lukman has said.

He made the announcement to State House Correspondents yesterday shortly after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, presided over by President Umaru Yar'adua.
