Sokoto — Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sa'ad III, has said that epileptic power supply has affected every aspect of Nigeria's economy.

The Sultan made the observation when he received high-powered delegation of National Assembly memebers, led by the Chairman, Local Organising Committee of the 2nd Inclusive Budget Meeting for seven states in the North-west geo-political zone, Sen. Umar Dahiru Tambuwal. The delegation paid the sultan visit, at his palace in Sokoto, on Tuesday.

He noted, however, that the situation will soon become a history.

Speaking on agriculture, the sultan called on the legislator to give agriculture all the necessary support it deserved in order to move the country forward.

He also urged the lawmakers to implement what they found necessary on the ground, while making their recommendations on the ways forward.

Responding, Tambuwal told the sultan that in budget preparation, discrepancies have been discovered.

"This is the reason why the Federal Government is making efforts to come out with budget that is people-oriented," he concluded.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of (7) seven state's of the North- west geo-political zone.
