Bushenyi, located in Western Uganda, is endowed with several tourist attractions. When you visit, expect to enjoy the following key tourist attractions.
Bunyaruguru Crater Lakes
These are an amazing sight; 52 in number, they are found about 50 kilometres from Bushenyi town, off the Bushenyi-Kasese highway.
The lakes are sky-blue and found about a kilometre below ground level. Some are separated by a strip as small as one-way road. You will also be able to enjoy hill climbing and nature walks.
The Kitagata Hotsprings are locally believed to treat the sick.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Bushenyi District harbours about 50 per cent of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The key tourist points of the park found in the district include the Ishasha Sector, Kyambura Gorge, and parts of Lake Edward and the Kazinga Channel.
You will be able to view tree climbing lions at Ishasha Sector.
Kitagata Hot Springs
They are located 15 kilometres south of Bushenyi town. The hot springs, which cover an area of about 50 square metres, are locally believed to treat the sick. People travel long distances to come for hot baths and you will be able to see local health pilgrims on the site. The site has remained natural and needs development to become of national significance.

Kalinzu Forest Reserve/Ecotourism Centre
This forest is natural with a thick canopy. The centre serves as a campsite and excursion attraction. You will be able to experience a cool breeze at this site especially during the evenings.
Attractions here include a forest/nature/community walk and a waterfall.
Kyambura Wildlife Reserve
Found in the east of Queen Elizabeth National Park, and south of the Kazinga Channel, the reserve is famous for chimpanzee viewing in the Kyambura Gorge.
Other animals found here include elephants, buffalos, Uganda cobs, and lions.
You will be able also to see tea and banana plantations as you drive through the district. Almost every sub county in Bushenyi has tea plantations, especially Kyamuhunga on the highway to Kasese. Land and vegetation in Bushenyi are 8.6 per cent of the district area, 2.2 per cent is wetland and 18.3 per cent is forest.
