Monrovia — More than 500 community dwellers and commuters in District #6 including Morris, Wood Camp, Fendell, Bensonville and Caresburg were beneficiaries of a new Bus Stop project dedicated on Monday, August 24, 2009 by the "Friends of Gerard" Organization in District #6, Paynesville City, Montserrado County.
The project facilitator, Mr. Abarham B. Gerard said his effort to construct the Bus Stop in the community was based on an appeal from the Friends of Gerard Organization, youths and elders of the District #6.
He thanked the Friends of Gerard and citizens of the district for the support and cooperation he continues to receive from them.
President of the organization, Mr. Jackson Grant said they launched a special appeal to Mr. Gerard out of concerns for the improvement of the living condition of the residents of the district.
The first Bus Stop, Mr. Gerard said is one of several projects earmarked by the organization for which he has promised to sponsor in the interest of the citizens and residents of the district. Mr. Gerard, through Friends of the Gerard organization has erected street lights for residents of Morris Farm, organized social services for citizens through donations, sports, health and education including scholarships for deserving students in the community.
The ribbon to the Bus Stop was cut by Madam Fatu Friday, head of the Omega Market Women Association who thanked facilitators of the project and paid special tribute to Mr. Gerard, the sponsor.
