Addis Ababa — Deputy Prime Minister and Minster of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Avigdor Liberman is due to pay a two-day official visit to Ethiopia on Wednesday and Thursday this week, Embassy of Israel here said.
During his stay, Minister Liberman is expected to hold meetings with high level Ethiopian officials including President Girma W. Giorgis, Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, and his counterpart Foreign Minister Seyoum Mesfin, the embassy said in a statement.
During his meetings with the high level Ethiopian officials, the minister is expected to sign cooperation agreements and memorandum of understandings of various types between the State of Israel and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the embassy added.
Minister Liberman is also expected to take part in the official inauguration ceremony of the Butajira Center of Excellence for Horticulture, a tripartite center for propagation of tropical fruits and vegetables established by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD), the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and The Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV).
Minister Liberman will also attend an economic forum between representatives of leading Israeli business community, which will accompany him during his visit, and leading Ethiopian business community.
