Angola: Housing Projects Discourage Disorderly Construction

Sumbe — The deputy minister of Urbanisation and Housing, Joaquim Silvestre, said on Wednesday in Sumbe city, that houses construction projects in the coastal Kwanza Sul province will abide by urban plans outlined by local government, so as to avoid disorderly constructions.

After a one-day visit to Sumbe city, the official told the press that, in the light of the housing programme, the government is preparing plots with urban plans where houses will be built in an orderly manner.

According to the deputy minister, in a first phase, Sumbe district will benefit from 300 hectares for the construction of residences.

During his visit, the deputy minister visited the plaster and cement factories, as well as the land reserves of Porto Amboim and Sumbe districts, and met with local governor, Serafim do Prado.
