Harare — SUNGURA musician King Pharaoh's much-awaited album Rudo Moto Kuvanhu Vacho which carries the song Reporter, is now out.
Reporter, as the title suggests, is targeted at some journalists from both the print and electronic media whom the artiste accuses of writing whatever comes their way.
Although some officials at Gramma have since described the offering as one of the hottest albums since Josphat Somanje's high-riding "This Time", they, however, said it had the potential to stir controversy.
In the song Reporter, the artiste doesn't mince his words in accusing a former girlfriend of concocting falsehoods, which she fed to the media to "tarnish" his image.
Ironically, it was once reported in the media that the artiste had a harem of wives, apart from allegations that he also raped a woman who had come to his church seeking divine treatment.
"Ibasa rako reporter, rekutapa uchinyora nhau . . . Mwana uya wandaivimba naye akandiitira zvandisingafungire/Akaenda kupepanhau akavaudza vanyore gwaro/Hanzi mambo ane vakadzi vasere," are part of the lyrics in the song.
Another thought-provoking song is Kunzvenga Mubvunzo, which is about people who, in an effort to run away from the truth, end up accusing others of wrongdoing, while Guyu Kutsvuka is a very relevant song in this era of HIV and Aids.
Vimbai Mai VeZimbabwe and Nani Question Mark (a follow-up to one of his earlier hits Question Mark) are love songs although the former advises women to maintain their looks lest men might ditch them for other women. The six-track album is King Pharaoh's 13th project to date.
His discography includes Kurira Kwegondo and Sarunde, which had the hit Sarunde (Ndiri Pacomma).Born Pharaoh Kadyandewo, the artiste who also calls himself the Flying Mambo is backed by Marumbe Express.
