Nigeria: They Were Just Naive - Babangida

Heated reactions are still boiling round the 2-2 draw between the Super Eagles and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia at Abuja National Stadium.Ex-Ajax Amsterdam of Holland winger, Tijjani Babangida said that he could not believe that the Nigerians could not lock the game when Mike Eneramo scored the second goal towards the tail end, describing the equalizer as the highest level of tactical naivety by the Eagles. "I think we have to love the game, come back to play the football. We don't lose the football, we play it.

"The last five minutes, some players are even playing Tunisia one-on-one Nigeria, when we were two goals up."We have to love them, play the football. We have the jugglers who can play five minutes, and it's over.

"It's unbelievable at this level of football that we cannot control a wining game," he stated in exasperation. Also reacting to the game against Tunisia, former Chelsea defender, Celestine Babayaro could hardly hide his disappointment and simply said in an emotional tone that he was sad that Nigeria lost a golden opportunity of putting the country's World Cup campaign back on track.

"Everybody needed this match, not just the Super Eagles. The whole 150 million Nigerians needed this match and I am so, so, so sad," the cupid-faced former left-wing-back moaned.
