Angola: NPA Clears Over 8,000 Square Metres of Landmine

Malanje — A total of 8,354 square metres of land were de-mined in Utende village, Cangandala district, 16 kilometres south of Malanje city (northern Angola), in August this year by the Non-Governmental Organisation, Norwegian People's Aid (NPA), Angop learnt Wednesday.

According to NPA's liaison official, Austragildo de Freitas, Utende de-mining project expects to deactivate 91,117 square metres until November this year, stressing that the institution has of late been using a new method called "clearing of land".
