Nigeria: Drug Peddlers to Bag Life Sentence FG

The Federal Government yesterday threatened to imposed life sentence on illicit drug dealers. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration's (NAFDAC) has, therefore been directed by the federal ministry of health to pursue the execution of the sentence.

The law applies to those who engage in fake and adulterated drug dealings in the country. Speaking to State House correspondents, Minister of state for health, Mr Idi Hong, said government is highly embarrassed by the alarming rate of drug trafficking and violation in the country and the only way to stem the tide and clean the nation's image is to apply maximum punishment and deter potential criminals.
