Nigeria: Aso Savings Partners Saraki On Housing

Impressed by the success story of the Kwara State Government's Public-Private-Partnership efforts in Housing programme, an Abuja based mortgage firm, Aso Savings and Loans Plc, has offered to partner with Governor Bukola Saraki in providing affordable mass housing for the citizenry.

The partnership arrangement was announced by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Mortgage Firm, Mr Hassan Usman, while speaking with journalists shortly after a closed door meeting with the Governorin his office, in Ilorin. Usman said the State Government had already indicated interest in the company's proposal, promising that "the partnership will be beneficial to all and sundry as houses to be constructed will be within the reach of the masses." Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Usman said it was a successful one as Government had indicated interest in creating an enabling environment that would facilitate the smooth operation of his organisation in the State.

He expressed optimism that with the Governor's response at the parley, there was high possibility of mass housing estate coming to Ilorin in the next few months, assuring that as soon as land was acquired for them, development would commence immediately.
