Zambia: 'I Didn't Arrest Kabwela Because of Presidential Pronouncement'

THE arresting officer in a case The Post Newspaper news editor Chansa Kabwela is charged with circulating obscene material yesterday told a Lusaka magistrate's court that she did not arrest Kabwela because of presidential pronouncements.

Sharon Zulu said when the matter came for continued trial before chief resident magistrate Charles Kafunda that she arrested Kabwela after investigations proved the accused wrote the letters and circulated the alleged obscene matter to the vice -president, secretary to the Cabinet and the Health Ministry.
