Angola: National Hero's Day Celebrated in Bié Province

Kuito — Various sports, recreational and cultural activities, under the celebrations of the National Hero's Day, September 17, are happening since last Saturday in Cunhinga district, central Bié province.

The activities include a workshop on the life and work of the first Angolan President, António Agostinho Neto, cleaning campaigns, competitions of national staple foods, beauty pageant and athletic races, among others.

The provincial main event will happen on September 17 in Chinguar district.

The National Hero's Day happens annually to honour the first President of Angola who passed away on September 17, 1979.
