15 September 2009

Benguela — The Brazilian aeronautics commander, brig. Juniti Siato, Tuesday in Lobito district, central Benguela province, praised the level of organisation of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in general and the Angolan Air Forces (FAN) in particular.

The senior officer, who was speaking after the visit he paid to the command of the central air region in Catumbela, in the framework of his stay in Angola, said that FAN has structures, equipment, organisation and experience that may be useful for Brazil.

According to him, the existing good relations between Angola and Brazil and their respective people require that militaries of both countries strengthen the cooperation ties and exchange experience.

He expressed satisfaction at the information that 14 Angolan pilots prepared to carry any kind of mission, have already been trained in the school based in central air region of Catumbela which, according to him, shows a capacity and organisation of the Angolan Army.

During his visit to Benguela province, the Brazilian commander was accompanied by senior officers of the Angolan Armed Forces.

The Brazilian military also worked in Lubango, southern Huíla province, with the purpose of assessing the level of organisation and exchange of experience between the Angolan and Brazilian soldiers.
