Nigeria: Kano Cries Out Over Contractors' Sabotage

Kano — With less than a month to kick-off the world cadet soccer championship scheduled to hold in Nigeria , Kano State Commissioner of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Garba has cried out over the slow pace of federal projects, particularly at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano.

The commissioner barred his mind after visiting the stadium, saying that this is unacceptable with the commencement of the U-17 World Cup only a month away from now.

Garba wondered why the contractors are foot-dragging over the completion of the projects while the tournament will kick off in less than a month's time.

He also directed the contractors to immediately complete the remaining works since time is fast elapsing.

Garba then charged the local organizing committee (LOC) of the tournament to ensure that the contractors are up and doing so that the state government's efforts and financial commitments would not be in vain.
