Luanda — The provinces of Huambo and Cunene will have local Ombuds offices within a few days.
For this effect, Ombudsman Paulo Tjipilica is leaving this Monday for the provinces of Huambo and Cunene, where new officials of the Ombuds office will be sworn in by him, in order to implement what is enshrined in the organic law of this institution.
Speaking to ANGOP, Paulo Tijipilica said that the inauguration of the new officials aims at implanting the local services to secure the defence of rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens in those regions.
On 21 and 22 September, the jurists Gabriel David Saquenha and Dionísio Hifeula will be sworn in the provinces of Huambo and Cunene, respectively.
According to Paulo Tijipilica, the services of the Ombudsman's office should not be confined to Luanda. "It is necessary to decentralise the services so that citizens can have the comfort to resort, within the inland provinces, to the representatives that will direct all participations to the headquarters of the Ombudsman's office", he said.
The central Benguela and Kwanza Sul provinces will be the next regions where the Ombudsman intends to expand the services.
