Angola: Lightning Kills Seven in Huambo

Longonjo — Seven members of a family were killed Tuesday when a lightning hit their home in Calengue village, some 50 miles south of Longonjo district, central highland Huambo province.

Four children, aged between two and 12 years old, are among the victims of the lightnings which also seriously wounded five other people from the same village who are now under intensive medical care at the municipal hospital of Longonjo.

The mayoress of Longonjo, Beatriz Tutuvala, expressed concern over the lightnings which occur every year during the rainy season killing people and causing material damages.
