Nigeria/Mozambique: Amodu Recalls Ayegbeni, Obafemi, Etafia for Mozambique

Super Eagles Head Coach Shaibu Amodu yesterday released a list of thirty players who have been called to camp for the crucial South Africa 2010 World Cup qualifying match against the Mambas of Mozambique in Abuja.

Top on the list of those invited are Everton of England goal poacher Yakubu Ayegbeni, German-based Obafemi Martins and returnee goalkeeper Greg Etafia of Maroka Swallows of South Africa who has taken the position of France-based Austin Ejide.

Amodu also recalled Beijing Olympic Games silver medallists Chibuzor Okonkwo and Femi Ajilore on the list that also has unknown James Ekosa. Others are goalkeepers, Vincent Enyeama and Dele Aiyenugba as well as Joseph Yobo, Apam Onyekachi, Yusuf Mohammed, Dele Adeleye, Taye Taiwo, Elderson Echiejele, Obinna Nwanneri, Sani Kaita, Dannay Shittu and Sam Sodje.

The midfield has Yusuf Ayila who is also making a comeback to the team after a lengthy spell, skipper Kanu Nwankwo, John Mikel Obi, Seyi Olofinjana, Sani Kaita and Dickson Etuhu.

The former BCC Lions of Gboko handler also invited strikers Osaze Odemwingie, Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi, Obinna Nsofor, Joseph Akpala, Peter Utaka and Michael Eneramo

Consequently, the Nigeria Football Federation yesterday dispatched Invitations letters to the respective clubs of the players and urging them to release the players on time for the crucial encounter.
