Cameroon: United Arab Emirates Prince Meets President Biya

Prince Sheick Abdullah Bin Zahyad was received in audience yesterday by the Head of State in New York.

After the United Nations General Assembly meeting, President Paul Biya got to work yesterday with a 45 minutes audience at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. The President received the foreign Affairs Minister of the United Arab Emirate (UAE), Crown Prince Sheik Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the audience, President Paul Biya and his august guest had time to discuss bilateral issues concerning Cameroon and the UAE.

Talking to the press after the audience, Sheik Abdullah Bin Zayed said he was happy that Cameroon and his country shared similar views on many development initiatives. He said President Paul Biya assured him of Cameroon's support noting that his country has a major international gathering in the months ahead, for which he obtained the President's collaboration.

Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan was in Cameroon last June at the head of an important delegation to explore investment opportunities with Cameroon. At the end of the visit, he promised to send a technical team back to Cameroon to evaluate ways of pursuing trade options with the country. It is likely that the New York audience also touched on the follow up of that plan.
