Washington, DC — Clinton to Discuss the Role of Africa in the 21st Century

Who:     U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

What: Secretary Clinton to address the Corporate Council on Africa's (CCA) 7th Biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit: Realizing the Investment Power of Africa.  At the summit, Secretary Clinton will discuss the results of her recent tour of several African countries, food security throughout the continent of Africa as well as the opportunity for Africa to become a global economic hub in the 21st century.

More than 1,000 public and private sector leaders are registered for the summit, making it the largest of its kind. The summit offers delegates more than 60 sessions on the most promising sectors in Africa including power, agriculture, infrastructure, health, tourism, natural resources, and financing.  Africa has experienced constant economic growth over the past five years and is predicted to grow by an enviable 3% throughout the rest of the year.

When:    Thursday, October 1st – 2:30PM

Where:    The Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, D.C. – Level 3: Ballroom BC

Note:     All media must report to the media registration desk between 1:30PM and 1:45PM to cover the event. No exceptions.  If you are not already credentialed to cover the summit, you must arrive in time to get credentialed.
