Uganda: FUFA Sets Aside Sh100 Million for Offices

Kampala — FUFA has set aside sh100m for five regional offices, federation president Lawrence Mulindwa announced yesterday.

While opening the eastern region office in Mbale yesterday, Mulindwa said the soccer governing body has so far spent sh75m for administrative centers in place in Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale.

FUFA is setting up these centers with the help of CAF and world soccer governing body FIFA. The eastern region office is located on the CRO building on Bishop Wasikye road.

The northern office is on Lacor road while that of western is housed in Pelican hotel. The offices are equipped with computers, fax machines, telephone, printers and furniture.

The offices will be run by three officials. These will be led by regional assistant technical directors who will be FUFA employees.

At the opening of the Mbale office, Mulindwa noted that he was open to negotiations with rivals who have taken their grievances against FUFA to court.

The Mbale event was attended by among others FUFA officials from the region, district football associations including Mbale, which intends to sue FUFA over the forthcoming elections.

A similar meeting held in Gulu attracted delegates from all the 13 delegates that constitute the Northern region.
